Swimming Program

St Simon the Apostle Swimming Program

Prep, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4

 

As part of the Physical Education curriculum, students from Prep to Year 4 will participate in our annual swimming program. This program provides valuable opportunities for students to develop fundamental swimming skills, water safety awareness, and confidence in the water. Throughout the program, students will be monitored and assessed on their swimming abilities.

 

 

Swimming lessons will replace the regular onsite Physical Education classes during the program period.

 

The St Simon Swimming Program will run in Term 3 and consist of 8 lessons across 8 school days, commencing in Week 8 on the following dates:

 

  • Monday 31 August (first day of the program)
  • Tuesday 1 September (groups organised following initial assessments)
  • Thursday 3 September
  • Friday 4 September
  • Monday 7 September
  • Tuesday 8 September
  • Thursday 10 September

  • Friday 11 September (final lesson)

     

A detailed timetable, including lesson times and bus transportation arrangements to and from Paul Sadler Swimland Rowville, will be provided next term via the permission form.

 

Please note that during the two-week swimming program, some year levels may have adjusted lunch and break times if lessons extend into the usual lunch period. Classroom teachers will manage these arrangements as required.

 

IMPORTANT PARENT FORMS:

 

As part of the swimming program, Paul Sadler wishes to have parent input with grouping students and providing the best learning outcome for our students. It will also help them understand your child's current swimming ability and to ensure minimal time is spent assessing children on the first day of the program.

 

We ask parents to take the time to fill out the Paul Sadler Swimming form to help the instructors group your child appropriately.

Any swimming-related attendance notifications should be communicated directly to your child’s classroom teacher before their scheduled lesson.
