World Oceans Day

World Oceans Day Friday 12th June

To support the Dolphin Research Institute, we are celebrating World Oceans Day. The United Nations celebrates World Oceans Day, (WOD) every year on the 8th of June. However, St Simon’s will be celebrating World Oceans Day on Friday 12th June. World Oceans Day Reminds us about the important role the ocean has in the lives of ourselves and others

On Friday 12th June, we encourage all students to dress up in a costume that relates to the ocean or wear warm comfortable casual clothes that are the colours of the ocean for the day. Also, we highly encourage students to wear runners. Please note that there is no Parade in the morning as the students will be attending mass in the morning.

We would ask students to bring in a gold coin donation for the Dolphin Research Institute. During the day, some classes will be participating in ocean conservation activities and fun games with our two Environmental leaders and our six i sea, i care Marie ambassadors.  Kaiden, Boyd, Erin, Sienna, Cohen, Oscar A, Kaylee M and Piper are working hard to organise and make it a successful event.
