CLEVER CLASS

Last Friday, our students participated in our first GEM Day of 2026, with a focus on Gratitude as part of The Resilience Project.

Throughout the afternoon, students explored what it means to be grateful and took time to reflect on the people who make a positive difference in their lives. They discussed the many ways others support, help and care for us, both at school and at home.

As part of the activities, students created gratitude cards for someone they are thankful for, thoughtfully expressing their appreciation through words, drawings and pictures. We also contributed to a collaborative gratitude paper chain, adding the names of people they are grateful for and illustrations of acts of kindness they have experienced or witnessed.

This created a great visual reminder of the many positive connections within our community.

The afternoon provided students with an opportunity to practise recognising and expressing gratitude, helping them to develop empathy, strengthen relationships and build a greater appreciation for the people around them.
