Principal's Message
Linda Buckeridge: Principal

I am pleased to advise our community that we have two new staff coming on board in 2026. Both Renai Comer and Stacey Prat will be welcomed into the Hillsmeade team, commencing January next year. We are excited to have these new teachers on board as we head into our next phase for the school, after the recent whole school review.
I would also like to let the community know that Mrs Emma Zach has been successfully appointed to the role of Assistant Principal, starting in 2026. Mrs Zach has been working diligently in the Disability Inclusion space over the last couple of years and will be an asset to the ongoing work of the principal team. Mrs Zach will oversee P-2 and Inclusion, as Assistant Principal. Huge congratulations Mrs Zach!
Mr Cooper will continue as a part time Assistant Principal, working three days per week with a focus on Teaching and Learning.
As you may be aware, Mr Craig Harrison has been on leave this second half of the year whilst he focuses on his young family, including his fourth son, who was born at the end of last year. Mr Harrison has decided to make a change and will be moving to Kurmile PS from next year as a specialist teacher. He will be around towards the end of the year to say farewell to the HPS community, including coming along to the End of Year Extravaganza. Although this is a sad time as we say good bye, I also support Mr Harrison's choice to head in a new direction. He will be greatly missed at Hillsmeade and we were lucky to work with him and have him on the team for the last 4 years. We wish Mr Harrison all the best on his new adventure!
Just a reminder that students will find out their teachers, classmates and classrooms for 2026 on Tuesday 9th December. Following this, they will then be in their new 2026 classes during the last 3 days of the final week of school this term.
2025 teachers and classes will end on Monday 15th December.
Term 4 wraps up for everyone on Thursday 18th December at 2.30pm, with Friday 19th December being a Curriculum Day.
A friendly reminder about Curriculum Day and to book your children into OSHC/TeamKids if required.
Please note that starting in 2026, gates will be opened from 8.15am. NO STUDENTS SHOULD BE ONSITE BEFORE THAT TIME.
We have TeamKids available if you need to drop your child/children to school early. All you need to do is register and then book in via the app/website.
Recently, we have seen many students arriving at school incredibly early - this is concerning as there is no official yard supervision until 8.35am. Please ensure you drop your child/children at school as close to 8.35am as possible, helping to ensure their safety.
Breakfast Club in 2026 will also start at 8.15am.
Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter.
