Spotlight on VISUAL ART
In Visual Arts students from Foundation to Year 6 proudly contributed to our Under the Ocean - Glow in the Dark Art Show. Every student in the school produced a unique artwork, transforming the space into a glowing underwater wonderland filled with colour and imagination.
Our Prep students created vibrant jellyfish. These cheerful glowing sea creatures were crafted with bright materials that shimmered beautifully under UV light, capturing the gentle movement and magic of the ocean.
Students in Year 1 and 2 explored texture and shape using fluorescent Magiclay. They sculpted a range of sea creatures—from starfish to turtles—and also designed glowing underwater scenes on paper plates. Their work showcased both creativity and growing fine-motor skills, with each piece adding bright colour to the display.
The Year 3 and 4 students took inspiration from coral reefs around the world. Using mixed media, they built coral sculptures featuring intricate forms and vivid colours that came to life under black light. Their artworks highlighted the complexity and beauty of these important underwater ecosystems.
Our Year 5 and 6 students experimented with painting their own fluorescent papers before using them to construct layered underwater collages. Their pieces demonstrated planning, composition, and artistic expression, resulting in striking scenes filled with movement and glowing detail.
