Year 10 Pillars Experience | Inspired by Nature

During Week 10 of Term 2, some of our Year 10 students enjoyed a creative Pillars Art Experience with local Tasmanian artist and facilitator Coralee Williams. They explored natural dyeing and eco-printing techniques using locally foraged materials, creating connections between art, sustainability and the environments around them.

Coralee shared her knowledge of sustainable creative practices, encouraging students to experiment, collaborate and discover new ways of expressing ideas through materials from the natural world. The workshop provided a wonderful opportunity for students to slow down, explore their creativity and experience contemporary art practices in a hands-on, meaningful way.

Legacy of Light Art Exhibition 

Opening Night: Wednesday 19 August, 6.00pm

St Mary’s College celebrates 250 years of Presentation heritage through Legacy of Light, an exhibition honouring the Sisters’ enduring impact on our community. Students from across the Junior and Senior Schools have been creating artworks inspired by the stories, values and legacy of the Presentation Sisters.

A special highlight of the exhibition will be the unveiling of eight commissioned portraits on opening night, created by some of our Year 10–12 Visual Arts students to honour our living Presentation Sisters and celebrate the women who have continued this legacy of service, compassion and faith.

The exhibition will also feature student art displays, historical artefacts and stories from our College archives, bringing together the past, present and future of our Presentation community.

Join us for an evening of celebration featuring artwork, music, choir performances and light refreshments as we honour the legacy of the women whose vision continues to shine through St Mary’s.
