Grade 3 News

We were very lucky to welcome Australian author and illustrator Zeno Sworder to our school! Zeno shared stories about his life, his journey as an author and illustrator, and what inspired him to create his books. The students were captivated as he demonstrated his creative process and encouraged them to have a go at writing and drawing themselves.

It was wonderful to see our students so engaged, curious and inspired as they explored their own ideas and creativity. A big thank you to Zeno for sharing his passion for storytelling and showing us that everyone has a story to tell! ✨📖

Last Friday, the Grade 3 students had MiniBOSS visit our school to complete the Island Escape incursion. It was wonderful to see the students working together in groups to problem-solve a variety of challenges throughout the day.

The students were told that they had become lost on a deserted island and needed to complete a series of tasks in order to be rescued. They were sorted into teams and began by creating their own team flags. Their first challenge was to build the tallest tower they could without talking, this was a big challenge as they had to communicate using only gestures. Next, the students completed a map challenge where they had to carefully listen to clues and work together to find the correct answers. Their final challenge was to work as a team to save a worm from its capsized boat!

Throughout the day, the students demonstrated fantastic teamwork skills. They had to share ideas, negotiate, listen to one another and discuss different strategies to successfully complete each challenge. It was wonderful to see them encouraging each other and persevering when tasks became tricky.

The Grade 3 students had an amazing day and did a fantastic job working together during the Island Escape incursion!
