Grade 2 Excursion - Moonlit Sanctuary
Our Grade 2 students had a fantastic day exploring the Moonlit Sanctuary to add to our understandings from the term in relation to the question “What can we learn from the way animals live?”
Throughout the day, students explored the Reptile House, where they saw a snake, patted a lizard and a leafy insect. During our park walks, we discovered wombats, cockatoos, koalas, Tasmanian devils, dingoes and eagles.
Students were fascinated to learn that koala poo smells like eucalyptus leaves and even tested this out by sniffing some!
A highlight of the day was the Wallaby Walk, where students fed kangaroos and wallabies. We also met Coconut, a beautiful white kangaroo.
