Grade 1 Goes Wild at Gumbuya World!

Our Grade 1 students had a fantastic day exploring Gumbuya World, bringing our Inquiry learning about “How do plants and animals help each other?” to life!

Throughout the day, students explored the Wildlife Trail and observed a variety of amazing animals and their habitats. They used their Inquiry knowledge to think about the important connections between plants and animals, noticing how plants can provide animals with food, shelter and safe places to live, while animals can help plants through processes such as pollination and seed dispersal.

The highlight of the excursion was definitely the Free-Flight Bird Show! Students were enthralled as beautiful birds soared right above their heads. There were plenty of excited faces as we watched the birds demonstrate their incredible talents like singing songs and waving!
