Celebrating Term 3
Dear Families,
As we come to the end of Term 3, it is hard to believe just how much our students, staff and families have achieved in such a short period of time. Term 3 has been an incredibly busy, exciting and memorable term, filled with opportunities for our students to learn, perform, compete, create, explore and, most importantly, have fun together.
There have been so many wonderful highlights throughout the term, and each one has reminded us of what makes our school community so special.
Our Art Show was an incredible celebration of creativity and talent. The gym was transformed into a wonderful gallery, showcasing the imagination, hard work and artistic achievements of our students. It was fantastic to see our families come through the school, celebrating the work of our young artists and sharing in their pride.
Our Performing Arts Production of The Lion King was another absolute highlight. Our students took to the stage with confidence, enthusiasm and incredible energy. The production was a wonderful demonstration of the many talents within our school and the dedication of the staff who supported students throughout the process. Seeing our students perform, encourage one another and shine on stage was truly special.
And then there was the school disco! What a fantastic night of dancing, laughter and fun. Events like this provide our students with opportunities to simply enjoy being together, make memories with their friends and strengthen the wonderful sense of belonging that exists across our school.
Our Book Fair was another wonderful celebration of our love of reading. It was fantastic to see students so excited about books and families supporting this important part of our school community. Developing a love of reading is something that stays with children for life, and it was wonderful to see that enthusiasm on display.
Our students have also had many opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through excursions and experiences. These experiences provide students with opportunities to connect their learning to the wider world, develop independence and create memories that will stay with them long after the excursion has finished.
Our Prep students have been busy in the pool, developing their swimming skills, confidence and water safety awareness. For many of our youngest students, these experiences are a significant achievement and it has been wonderful to see their confidence grow.
Our sporting program has also been a highlight, with students representing Berwick Chase at HoopTime. Watching our students compete, encourage their teammates, demonstrate sportsmanship and proudly represent our school is always a pleasure. We are incredibly proud of the way our students conduct themselves both on and off the court.
Our Grade 5 students headed off to Phillip Island for camp, embracing the opportunity to develop independence, resilience and teamwork. Camps are such an important part of primary school, providing experiences that simply cannot be replicated in the classroom.
There were challenges, laughter, new experiences and plenty of memories made along the way.
And then there was MAD Day!
MAD Day was a wonderful example of our students putting their learning into action. Our Grade 6 students stepped into the role of entrepreneurs, developing and operating their own businesses and stalls. The creativity, organisation, teamwork and problem-solving demonstrated by our students was fantastic to see. It was wonderful watching our senior students take responsibility, work together and put their ideas into practice while the rest of our students enjoyed supporting their businesses.
And what better way to finish such an incredible term than with our AFL Footy Parade today! Seeing our students arrive dressed in their favourite teams and colours, celebrating their love of football and sharing the excitement with their friends is a wonderful way to bring our school community together. There is something very special about the energy and enthusiasm that fills the school on days like today.
What stands out most is the learning and growth that has happened through every one of these experiences. Our students have had opportunities to be creative, courageous, independent, resilient, collaborative and curious. They have performed in front of audiences, tried new things, represented their school, solved problems, worked in teams, challenged themselves and celebrated the successes of others.
None of this happens without the incredible commitment of our staff. I would like to sincerely thank every staff member who has contributed to making Term 3 such a memorable one. From planning and teaching to organising events, supervising excursions and camps, coaching sporting teams, supporting performances and simply being there for our students each day — your dedication is what makes these experiences possible.
I would also like to thank our families for your continued support. Whether you attended the Art Show, watched The Lion King, supported the Book Fair, came along to the disco, cheered from the sidelines, purchased from a MAD Day business or simply encouraged your children to participate and have a go, you have played an important part in making this term such a success.
As we finish Term 3, we can be incredibly proud of our students and the opportunities they have embraced. We have laughed together, learned together, celebrated together and created memories together. That is what being part of the Berwick Chase community is all about.
I hope everyone has a safe, relaxing and well-deserved break. Take the opportunity to slow down, spend time together and recharge. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term.
Warm regards,
Jodie Day
Assistant Principal
