Junior Science Olympiad Exams

The Junior Science Olympiad Exams are challenging but rewarding online exams held once a year, which includes topics in science such as Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, and Physics.

Junior Science Olympiad Year 9 & 10

Wednesday 12 June 2024 (9-11am – location TBC)

Junior Science Olympiad Year 7 & 8

Friday 14 June 2024 (9-11am – location TBC)

The cost is $16.50 (including GST) per student.

Exams are two-hours long and are completed wholly online. Students can only sit one exam level. The program consists of three stages:

  1. Sitting the Junior Science Olympiad Exam, which covers biology, chemistry, Earth and environmental science, and physics.
  2. Being invited to attend the Junior Science Olympiad Spring School.
  3. Being selected to represent Australia at the International Junior Science Olympiad.

IMPORTANT: Teachers have nominated students and an invite was released via Compass, it is opt-in so no pressure to join. I am also more than happy to add students to the invite, just let your BEST Teacher or Ms Doyle know.

To get an idea of the topics covered, here you will find past exams - Junior Science Olympiad Past Exams - Australian Science Innovations | Australian Science Innovations (asi.edu.au)

NOTE: These exams are for the previous Junior Olympiads which were for Year levels 7-10, so the 2024 7-8 one should be less difficult overall.
