LMR Senior Girls AFL
It was an unexpected, last minute call up to compete in the next level - after a narrow loss at the Campaspe competition - but we scrambled to get a team together and it was totally worth it!
A short trip to Moama on a cold but sunny morning set the scene. The girls came out firing with a few early goals and held strong to take a 24 - 12 lead into half time.
But it was the second half where they truly shone - with outstanding teamwork, pressure and intensity across the ground.
Huge shout out to Sage, Emma, Maisy, Beth and Lainey for their fearless attack on the ball and relentless tackling all game. And special mention to Zoe, who slotted three goals to help seal a commanding win!
Final score - 9.11.65 to 2.1.13
Senior Boys AFL Premier League - Round 2
Our Senior Boys AFL team faced off against Western Heights in Round 2 of the Premier League at Vic Park last week.
The game was played in great spirit and showcased a terrific standard of football, leading to a fiercely contested and tough battle from start to finish. Western Heights held a narrow one-point lead at the break, in a low scoring first half.
Western Heights gained the upper hand in the third quarter, hitting the scoreboard and pushing out to a 19-point lead at the final break.
Led by a fourth-quarter masterclass from Hudson Kellett, St Joes surged back into the contest. With relentless pressure and determination, we clawed back the deficit and levelled the scores just before the final siren sounded - resulting in a hard fought and thrilling draw!

Year 7 & 8 Boys Campaspe AFL
Our Year 7 & 8 Boys had an outstanding day representing St Joseph's in the Campaspe AFL Competition in Moama last week under perfect footy conditions.
Year 7
The Year 7 Team played three matches against Rochester Secondary College, St Augustine's Kyabram and St Mary of the Angels Nathalia (SMOTA).
The boys were excited to represent their school and to play with friends they don't usually get to play with in their weekend teams.
Our players represented themselves and our College very well and performed consistently all day to secure three strong wins.
Thank you to all the parents/guardian and carers who came and supported their child on the day.
Best Players across the 3 games were:
Tom Arthurson, Xander Eldridge, Angus Henderson, Luca Micalizzi, Tighe Teasdale, Xavier Camplin and Jaxon Key.
Year 8
Our Year 8 team had a big day out, competing in five matches and against some tough opposition in St Augustine's and SMOTA.
But the boys rose to the challenge with fantastic teamwork, unselfish play and strong performances across all lines to finish the day undefeated.
The midfield was relentless, the forwards applied constant pressure and the backs stood strong all day in a brilliant display of football from the whole team.
Most influential players throughout the day were:
Arli Walker, Oliver Spring, Max Burge, Oaklei Luke, Tom Teasdale Dohnt and Charlie Groves.
