Glen the Roo!

Hello GWPS Families,

Our names are Aarika, Aseli and Sanuri.

We are writing this article on behalf of the Glen the Roo team.

First of all, we would like to thank the children who voted for Glen the Roo as our 2025 GWPS mascot! We are so grateful to be a part of the team that created him.

The process of making Glen the Roo, included a lot of hard work and dedication. On Thursday the 1st and Friday the 2nd of May, the mascot election took place. We really enjoyed assisting the rest of the school by sitting at the issuing table and helping with the voting process. 

We feel so proud that we have won the mascot election, and we are looking forward to continuing the rest of our amazing journey and improving on what we have created. We are hoping that our next step for Glen the Roo is to have a personalised costume for him, and to incorporate him throughout the school. His appearance can really improve the reputation of our school, making us even more appealing to the wider community.

We plan for the personalised costume of Glen to be used for:

• Prep picnics
• Special assemblies
• School tours
• Well-being programs
• Incursions
• Lunchtime sports
• Visiting classes (once in a while)
• Sporting events (Athletics, Cross Country, Twilight Sports etc.)
• The School Fun Run
• Open Days

We can’t wait for everyone to meet Glen the Roo and show you how he brings fun, spirit and pride to our school. Thank you again to everyone who supported him and everyone who helped organise and run the election day. Keep an eye out... Glen might be hopping happily into your classroom soon!
