Holiday Borrowing is Go!
With the end of the school year approaching students can now borrow books to take home over the holidays. Reading is a great way to spend some time over the summer, whether it's for entertainment, to brush up on literacy skills, to find connection or comfort, or to pass the time on a long car ride! Setting a challenge can be a great motivator - we have some summer reading challenge ideas on display in the library – or see the library website for reading lists, including some recommended new books from the year: https://tinyurl.com/2detmx7n
There is also a fantastic online collection of eBooks and audiobooks available through the ePlatform, which can be accessed all year round.
Meet the author
We are excited to be closing the year with a visit from international bestselling author Amie Kaufman. She’ll be running a masterclass with Year 7 and 8 students taking part in the VHAP program, and will also be dropping into the library during break 1 to answer questions and sign books. All are welcome to the recess session.
Thank you
Thank you to everyone who has been involved with the library this year – creating our library bookmarks, helping out at the desk, shelving books, reviewing and recommending books, taking part in the Premiers’ Reading Challenge and in book club. In particular we’d like to thank Year 12s – Estella L has been a superstar library volunteer since she was in Year 8; Katelyn M and Ruslana T have contributed ideas and discussions through book club - and Katelyn has been a fantastic source of reviews, bookish information and recommendations!
