Year 9 Pop Up Food sales

Year 9 students were given the challenge in food tech to deliver the following brief to create items for the pop up shop. 

In teams of 2-3 students are to design and produce a food product suitable to eat as a snack or light meal. Your design cannot already be on the VBC Canteen menu. 

Your dishes must not contain any nuts or nut products. 

Your design must look visually appealing, incorporate a variety of flavours and textures and must be easy to eat on-the-go (hand-held or in eco- friendly container). It must also appeal to your target market (Students and Staff) and meet budgetary constraints (single serving portion must not exceed $1 to produce). 

Your preferred design option needs to be prepared and generally pre-cooked within 50 minutes. Garnishing and limited cooking\ reheating may be needed at Pop Up Café location.  

The students came up with fabulous designs , excellent teamwork and good time management. 5 star effort indeed. 

 

 

 

Halloween

Thursday 31st of October was a great time to make some little treats for Halloween. 

Year 10 master chef students made some cup cakes and decorated them as mummies to celebrate the day. They looked as good as they tasted. Well done all. 

 

 

Year 12 End of An Era Final Cook Up. 

What a great way to finish of year 12 with a nice simple cook up of chips, meat and salad to celebrate the end of food studies. We wish all our student's all the best in their future endeavours.
