Interschool Sport

Term 3 got off to a flying start with our Second Annual Athletics Day. The weather certainly turned it on, and so did our students with their incredible school pride. Athletics Day was a wonderful success, with students taking part in a variety of track and field events, novelty activities, and gaming in the Wyndham Street Surfer Bus facilitated by our Wellbeing Team. Sabrina and Claudia also organised a fantastic Team Pride art station, which added a vibrant touch to the day.

Athletics Day not only brought our college community together but also served as trials for our division and regional competitions. A very big congratulations to Rudra Dongaonkar (7B), Zawwar Usama-Khan (7F), Marita Manoa-Seumanutafa (7D), and Ana Sepulona-Seaina (10A) who have qualified to represent Wyndham in the Western Metropolitan Regionals at the start of Term 4.

Our students proudly represented Bemin Secondary College in Basketball, Netball and Futsal. Our Senior Boys Futsal and Netball teams represented Wyndham with distinction, showcasing teamwork and determination. All of our teams demonstrated great school spirit and determination. We can't send our teams out without our fabulous coaches who volunteer their time to coach and train our students - thank you to Lauren Turner, Kate Meynell, Danni Ryan,  Luke Zahra and Eli Mills for supporting our students and allowing them to demonstrate our school values at interschool sports events.

In addition to division and regional events, both Senior and Junior students had the exciting opportunity to participate in a professional training session with the Werribee Football Club, who kindly volunteered their time to run a fun and interactive AFL clinic. Students not only developed their skills but also built resilience through this experience.

Looking ahead, our Senior students will be competing in the AFL Unity Cup. This event brings students from diverse backgrounds together through AFL and provides a wonderful opportunity for Bemin students to connect with peers from schools across Victoria, while celebrating faith, culture, and community.
