Outstanding Achievements at District Athletics

Gallery Image

On Thursday, 4th September, a team of our talented student athletes proudly represented our College at the District Athletics Carnival at Casey Fields. It was an incredible day of competition and personal achievement - on a bitterly cold, wet day.

We are delighted to share that nine of our students claimed first place in their events - a fantastic result that reflects their dedication and hard work. Many of our athletes also achieved new personal bests, showing just how much effort they have put into their training.

Most importantly, every single student gave it their all on the day, demonstrating perseverance, determination and great team spirit. Our athletes not only competed strongly but also supported and encouraged one another throughout the day.

We are very proud of their achievements and the way they represented Pakenham Secondary College. Congratulations to all of our athletes on such a successful day!

On Monday, 15th September, our Year 12 students faced off against the staff in the final round of this year’s Staff vs Students Challenge, a high-energy game of European Handball.

Despite the students’ determination, the staff proved too strong on the court, walking away with a convincing 19–6 victory. It was a fantastic atmosphere at lunchtime, with plenty of supporters cheering from the sidelines and enjoying the action-packed contest.

This result brought the 2025 Challenge to a close, with the final tally looking like this:

  • Swimming Relay: Staff

  • Tug of War: Staff

  • Netball: Staff

  • 4x100m Relay: Students

  • Basketball: Students

  • Volleyball: Students

  • European Handball: Staff

With four wins to the staff and three to the students, it was a narrow overall victory for the staff.

A huge thank you to all the students and staff who competed and to everyone who came along to cheer. The Staff vs Students Challenge has once again been a highlight of the year!

And while the official competition may be over, we are not done yet! To kick off Week 1 of Term 4, there will be a fun and friendly game of Dodgeball - the perfect way to start the new term.
