Principal Report

In Term 1, I worked deliberately to strengthen our shared vision for Boroondara Park Primary School by engaging closely with every part of our community. I met with local business leaders, all teaching staff, school councillors, Members of Parliament and neighbouring kindergartens to build strong partnerships and ensure alignment around our direction. Within the school, we reset and reaffirmed our values, emphasising high expectations, consistent standards and a renewed focus on what we stand for as a learning community. These actions helped establish clarity, connection and a united commitment to the culture we are shaping together.
We have several school tours coming up, and I warmly welcome any families looking to enrol their child to come along.
Tuesday 19 May at 9:30am and 11:30am
School tours and meetings with the leadership team can also be arranged by contacting the school.

Our Mother’s Day Dinner is fast approaching. This event is always a wonderful night of laughter, community connection and great food. If you haven’t already purchased a ticket, you can do so here – Mother’s Day Dinner. Please refer to the Compass news item for more details.
Well done to Mr Milan, who organised and ran the whole‑school cross country event this week. It was a wonderful day, with every student trying their best and supporting one another. It was great to see the junior school participating in events like these to build connection to school.
A huge thank you to the parents who supported our whole‑school cross country day this week. We appreciate your involvement, and your contributions do not go unnoticed.
During Week 1 of Term 2, I was fortunate to spend time with fellow principals to network, build collegiality and hear from a range of keynote speakers. The main theme was responsive teaching and how we can support students at their point of need. This is an area I am eager to continue developing at BPPS.
Finally, we say goodbye to Sharon, our wonderful office administrator. Sharon has been an integral part of our school for the past two years, and we will miss her dearly. We wish her all the best at Surrey Hills PS.
Kind regards,
Anthony Rowe
