We are extremely pleased and excited to announce that Year 12 student, Amelia Ly has been awarded a prestigious scholarship through the Goethe Institute. Amelia is one of only five school students between the ages of 15 and 17 to receive this scholarship in Australia. This scholarship provides Amelia with the opportunity to attend a two-week language camp in Austria during the July school holidays. At this camp, Amelia will attend intensive German language classes with other students from around the world. As part of this scholarship Amelia will also be provided with return international flights, accommodation and meals.
In order to apply and be shortlisted for this scholarship, Amelia was required to produce a short original video in which she introduced herself in German and explained why she is an ideal candidate as well as her reasons for wanting to attend. After being shortlisted, Amelia attended an online interview in which she elaborated on her personal and academic goals and how such a scholarship aligns with her dreams and ambitions.
A sports and leisure program will also be on offer to Amelia throughout her two-week study camp. On weekends and after classes, Amelia and her fellow scholarship recipients will have access to various sporting and indoor facilities. Guided hiking tours in the beautiful natural alpine environment will also be on offer.
This scholarship will provide Amelia with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse herself in a German-speaking community. This study camp will also be incredibly valuable as Amelia continues the remainder of her year 12 German studies.
Vielen Dank to our VCE German teacher, Herr Goswami, for supporting Amelia throughout her application process.
Congratulations, Amelia!
