Five Peaks Virtual Challenge

During March the Mullauna Secondary College Community participated in Canteen Australia’s Five Peaks Virtual Challenge.

Participants walked, ran or cycled 68 kilometers to raise awareness and money to support young people fighting a cancer battle. The 68 kilometres represented the  combined distances of the hikes of Australia’s highest 5 peaks.

We had 24 staff and students sign up for the challenge and 15 completed it successfully. Congratulations to Louis, Liam, Victoria, Angus, Matilda, Finn, Abbey, Harley, Josh, Jess, James, Mr Ruff, Mr Perree, Ms Halpin and Ms Chiappa who covered a combined 1979 kilometres in March. Thank you to everyone who sponsored us smashing our target and raising $2101.

We celebrated the end of the challenge at school on Monday 31st March by inviting all members of the college community to walk or run laps of the oval. We managed to have at least 2 people doing laps at all times of the school day and covered a total of 620km on the day. We also ran a casual clothes day on Monday 31st raising a further $778 for Canteen Australia.

Again, thanks to all who participated and donated to this cause.

Keep a look out next term for Rafter’s Push Up Challenge, raising awareness and money for mental health.
