This fortnight began with students making Risotto of the Imagination to showcase some of our wonderful greens in the garden! We enjoyed using different coloured Silverbeet to add lots of colour to our food.
To celebrate the Olympics, we took inspiration from our favourite events to decorate and flavour our focaccia. Grade 2V made BMX and Javelin-inspired bread! We went on a garden hunt to find herbs, edible flowers and produce to flavour our focaccia and Herbal Tea. The middle and senior students also prepared some roast pumpkin for us to taste!
If you have any small (even tiny) jars, we would love them, please!
This term, we would love to welcome helpers into our Kitchen Garden program to maximise the experience and learning outcomes.
In order to volunteer, you will need to hold a current Working With Children Check, and sign a code of conduct at the office.
Morning block classes run from 9am - 11am.
Middle block classes run from 11:40am - 1:40pm.
If you are interested, please get in touch with Miss Pia Macris (Monday and Tuesday classes), or Mrs Nicole Quanchi (Wednesday and Friday classes).

Last Friday we welcomed our Grandparents into our school and into our Kitchen Garden classes. During our Garden classes we planted lots of grasses and trees. It was wonderful having our grandparents and parents to help out .
Our Tree Planting Week gave us the chance to chat about the importance of creating green habitats for our native birds and animals.
Well done to our 5/6ś that lead the way by starting to plant up some barren garden areas this week. Its always great to see our students take on new achievements in our garden.
Gold star goes to Jacinta for cuddling Chicky the chook for the first time. Well Done Jacinta.
Happy Winter Gardening
