SMR Girls Football
There have been outstanding results across the Girls Football program this term. The Intermediate Girls delivered an impressive performance, securing a convincing victory in the final to be crowned regional champions. The Junior Girls also enjoyed a fantastic day, showcasing exceptional skill and determination as they dominated the final after a series of hard-fought matches.
Congratulations to both teams and their coaches on their outstanding achievements and the way they represented the school. Both teams will now compete in the State Quarter Finals next week, and we wish them the very best of luck.
State Cross Country
EMC proudly had three students represent the school at the State Cross Country Championships on 16 July at the Yarra Valley Racing Club.
The day began with Sienna Fleisner, who produced an outstanding performance to finish 16th in Victoria. Next, Asha Morrow delivered a dominant run, crossing the finish line approximately 400 metres ahead of second place to be crowned State Champion. The day concluded with Mikayla Coutts competing in the 17+ age group, where she ran exceptionally well against a strong field to finish 34th in the state.
Congratulations to Sienna, Asha and Mikayla on their incredible achievements and for representing EMC with pride.
SMR Soccer
Last week, our SMR Intermediate Girls and SMR Senior Boys Football teams competed at Kingston Heath Reserve. Both teams put in a fantastic effort against some very strong opposition. While the results didn't fall our way, it was great to see every player represent the college with pride, determination and excellent sportsmanship.
Congratulations to all students and coaches on their efforts and the way they represented EMC.
Looking Forward!
Looking ahead, there are plenty of exciting opportunities for students to represent EMC across a range of sports.
Later this term, students will compete in the State Junior Girls Football Finals, State Intermediate Girls Football Finals, SMR Year 7 Boys and Girls Netball, SMR Senior Girls Basketball, and NPD Athletics.
With a busy and exciting sporting calendar ahead, there is plenty for students to look forward to. We are excited to see our teams continue to develop, compete with pride, and represent EMC to the best of their ability. We wish all students and coaches the very best in their upcoming competitions.
