Green Team

School Trees Day 

On Friday 24th July, 55 students from Murdoch, The Aspirant Leaders, Student Representative Council and The Green Team came together to plant 150 native trees, shrubs and grasses around the college as part of Planet Ark’s National Tree Day collaboration with Frankston City Council. All plants are native species to our local area and donated by the Frankston Indigenous Nursery intended to support our green spaces. A short drizzle in the morning primed our dirt perfectly, and a quick clean up of the yard left our garden beds looking beautiful. 

The Year 12 Green Team made sure every plant had a guard around it, whether that be a recycled milk bottle or a plastic guard, to ensure our plants are kept safe from rabbits and birds. A big thank you to Damien, Wayne, Nick Buykx and Sarah Ashdown for all your support on the day, and to Caroline Semey and the team at the farm for housing and looking after our plants in the week leading up to the event.
