Attendance Matters

Dear Parents/Carers and Students,

We would like to remind all families about the importance of regular school attendance and the impact it has on student learning.

You may have recently received communication via email regarding your child’s attendance. For some students, attendance is currently below 80% whilst others are below 70%, which equates to approximately 20–30% of missed learning time. This level of absence can significantly affect a student’s ability to keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and achieve their full potential.

Regular attendance is essential, as each lesson builds on prior knowledge and supports ongoing progress.

Homegroup Teachers may have already contacted some families to discuss attendance concerns and to offer support. If you have not yet been contacted but have questions or concerns about your child’s attendance or missed learning opportunities, we encourage you to reach out.

If you would like to discuss your child’s attendance or require any further support, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Homegroup Teacher or Sub-School.

Regards

EMC Attendance Team
