Year 12 Theatre Studies - 'This Murder Was Staged'
Celebrate the hard work and dedication of our Year 12 Theatre Studies class on the 21st May presenting their Unit 3 play 'This Murder Was Staged'. There is a 4pm show and 7pm show.
Tickets are on sale now via https://www.trybooking.com/DKSHJ
It's opening night of a brand-new mystery play, but just as the killer is about to be revealed, the body of the play's director falls onstage instead. In that moment, the theater becomes an active crime scene, and everyone from cast to crew to even the audience becomes a suspect. But how is the intrepid detective supposed to find the killer when everyone and their mother (literally) has a motive to want the demanding director gone? This Murder Was Staged is a fast-paced, backstabbing, backstage comedy from two of the writers of The Alibis and Rogues' Gallery.
PAC - Guest Speaker
On Thursday 2nd April, 2025 Alumni Lily Buckley presented to our current PAC Students about the power of hard work, resillience and dedication in Performing Arts. Lily shared her own experience as a PAC Alumni, Top Class performer and VCE Music Dux as well as her achievements in our College Productions. This was a fantastic session for our emerging performers to set their sights high and dream big!

Rehearsal times have been organised to balance staff workloads and availability of a suitable rehearsal space on certain days. Compass will start showing rehearsal times as staff enrol students into these groups, but ensembles rehearsals will all start next week. (9 Feb).
Some students will have their after-school rehearsal times change in Semester 2, and as a parent of two very busy kids myself, I understand the organisational challenge this may cause some families. Please get in touch if you have any concerns!
Being part of an ensemble/band is one of the more rewarding aspects of learning an instrument and is also a compulsory part of our program here at EMC. If the rehearsal times don’t align with your schedule, please email me at: dominic.parsons@education.vic.gov.au
Kind Regards,
Dominic Parsons
Instrumental Music Co-ordinator.
