Prayer

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer you this poor heart of mine.

Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to your will.

Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you.

Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions.

Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.

Amen.

Confirmation 2025

A Call to Prayer for Our Year 6 Confirmation Candidates

As some of our Year 6 students draw nearer to receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on the 25th and 26th of July, we ask you to join us in prayerful support for them. These young members of our community are preparing to receive the Holy Spirit, Who will strengthen and guide them as they continue their journey of faith.

Preparing for Confirmation

Our candidates have been diligently preparing themselves for this important step. Their preparation has included:

  • Learning about the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit — wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord — and the fruits of the Holy Spirit, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
  • Participating in a Retreat Day filled with prayer and reflection, allowing them to deepen their relationship with God and discern how the Holy Spirit is calling them.
  • Identifying and reflecting on the Spirit-filled people in their lives who serve as positive influences and examples of faith in action.

How You Can Help

As these students prepare to receive the Holy Spirit in Confirmation, your prayers are invaluable. Please pray:

  • That they may be open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
  • That they may grow in wisdom and understanding of their faith.
  • That they may be strengthened to live as disciples of Christ in the world.

Let us all unite in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to fill our Confirmation candidates with His gifts and fruits, so that they may boldly proclaim the Gospel and live lives of holiness.
