REFLECTION ON TERM 2 - LEARNING AND TEACHING

As Term 2 draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the incredible learning, growth, and achievements that have taken place across our school community.

This term, classrooms have been filled with rich discussion, deep thinking, and collaborative problem-solving. It has been inspiring to see our students actively engaged in their learning—asking questions, making connections, and challenging themselves to grow. Their persistence, creativity, and curiosity have truly shone.

As part of wrapping up Term 2, students were invited to reflect on their learning journey. Their insights revealed growth not only in their academic progress, but also in their confidence, resilience, and collaboration.

“I liked learning how to write sentences by myself in Oral Language Play.” - Evie, Prep Natasha.

“I liked Discovery Based Learning. I liked when we read Edward Tulane. It was sad but also funny.” - Maelle, Year 2 Zoe.

“I liked Oral Language Play and doing my maths. It was pretty fun doing it because there were hard questions. I also like reading, because the books we read are pretty fun.” - Mishika, Year 1 Stephanie.

“I liked our persuasive writing, because it was fun to plan and write because we had so many ideas. My topic was Summer Is Better Than Winter.” - Falak, Year 3 Katherine.

“I liked our project we did in Discovery Based Learning. It was about Global Connections. We researched about Australia and our chosen country and made posters with all the information.” - Josie, Year 4 Emily.

“I enjoyed learning about political parties in Discovery Based Learning. We made our own political party, it was called the Student Freedom Party.” - Shaanuja, Year 5 Brooke/Hayden.

“I have improved my persuasive writing by using persuasive features to convince the reader to use Renewable Energy.” - Sya, Year 6 Ellen.

These reflections highlight the learning that occurs when students are empowered to think critically, reflect meaningfully, and share their voices.

Looking ahead to Term 3, we are excited about the new learning opportunities and challenges that await. Students will explore new topics, take part in creative learning tasks, and continue developing key skills such as problem-solving and teamwork. It promises to be a term full of discovery, growth, and celebration.

We’re incredibly proud of what our students have achieved so far this year and look forward to another exciting term ahead.
