Survivor Day

As we prepare for our much loved 'Survivor Day' Inquiry unit, we ask that each student brings in a plain white T-shirt that you are happy for them to draw on/paint/decorate. This will form part of their team uniform for the day. These can be sourced cheaply from Kmart/Best and Less/BigW or if you happen to already have one at home! If these could be sent to school when you have one, that would be greatly appreciated.

Learning in weeks 6&7

Literacy:

  • Toincrease typing speed while maintaining accuracy by using correct finger placement and steady rhythm.
  • Identify and use embedded clauses to add detail to noun groups.
  • To sustain neat, legible handwriting for longer writing tasks.
  • Write a strong introduction to a comparative writing piece.
  • Analyse author bias.
  • To compare how authors use voice to shape meaning.

Mathematics:

  • Identify factors of a given number and explain prime and composite numbers.
  • How positive and negative integers are placed on a number line.
  • Place numbers with up to three decimal places on a number line, using benchmark fractions and decimals
  • How to locate and plot points on a Cartesian plane.
  •  Use factor trees to identify the prime factors of any multiple.
