Year 7
Ben Shepherd
It has been a busy and exciting few weeks for our Year 7 students, with many getting involved in Interschool Sport. Students proudly represented the College in:
Girls Netball
Boys Football
Mixed Badminton
There were some outstanding results across all teams, but most importantly, students demonstrated teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience and school pride throughout the competition. Congratulations to all Year 7 students who participated — we are incredibly proud of your efforts and the way you represented the school.
Progress Reports have now been published. These reports provide families with an indication of student work habits and learning behaviours in the classroom. They are a fantastic opportunity to start positive academic conversations at home, celebrate successes and discuss strategies for continued growth and improvement.
We are also looking forward to one of the highlights of the term (26/06/26) — the annual Year 7 Disco! The disco will take place on the last day of term during the second half of lunch and Period 4. Regular classes will not run during this time as we transform the space into a dancefloor for students and staff alike to enjoy. Students are welcome to bring a change of clothes (neat casual attire) and may get changed at the beginning of lunch before heading to the disco. A supervised quiet space will also be available for any students who require a calmer environment during the event. Adding a little extra excitement to the celebrations, the Home Group that wins the Star Jar Competition will earn the honour of choosing the songs for the disco playlist!
Finally, congratulations to our Teacher Nominated Students of the Month, Chloe in 7A and Neveah in 7B, for consistently demonstrating excellence in their learning. We are very proud of your efforts and the positive example you set for others.
We look forward to finishing the term strongly and celebrating together at the disco!
Year 7 Team.
