Physics

On Monday 23rd March the Year 10 physics class went on an excursion to Lilydale Flight school. While there, students did a flight check on a Piper Archer III plane and learnt about various types of small planes. Later on, we each attempted a flight simulator which was fully interactive, simulating flight turbulence and plane movements. We were also guided around by an adorable dog named Percy.
The biggest standout by far was the joy flight we had, where the pilot took us up in a small four-seater plane and showed us the procedures for flying. It was AMAZING; we were able to view LHC from the sky. The pilot also showed us how it feels to experience zero g-force as well as a really high g-force, which made us sink into our seats like a rollercoaster! It was an amazing experience and showed lots of possible career paths that we could take in the future. It was an amazing day that I am so glad we were able to participate in.
