Senior Badminton

On Wednesday 29th April, some of our senior school students represented the College in Interschool Badminton. We had two teams competing on the day, with students demonstrating great teamwork, sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the competition.   Our Team A finished in second place after remaining undefeated throughout the day, leading them into the grand final where they unfortunately fell short. Team B also played exceptionally well and competed against some very strong opposition, showing persistence and determination across all matches.

Year 8 Badminton

On Wednesday 6th May, the team travelled to Kilsyth Stadium to compete in the Yarra Division Badminton competition.    It was a day that saw some great singles and doubles matches played against our competition and some incredible sportsmanship among all students.   Our Boys and Girls A Teams were both undefeated for the day and will progress through to the next round in August. Well done to all students on a fantastic day out at Interschool Sport.

Year 8 Girls Netball

On Wednesday 6 May, some of our Year 8 girls represented the College in netball. We had two teams competing on the day. Our A Team finished second in their pool and recorded four wins for the day. Our B Team won two games. After losing their first game, they found their rhythm and really started to gel as a team. One of our Year 10 students, Ella K., coached the B Team and demonstrated great leadership. All the girls showed excellent teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day, and we are very proud of their efforts!

Year 7 Football

The Year 7 Boys Football team showed grit, determination and amazing resilience. Even though we lost the first two games, the boys were determined to come away with a win, and they did so by 7 points in the final game. The boys displayed brilliant sportsmanship throughout the day and were expertly coached by two Year 9 legends, Harrison D. and Samson P.  Their impact on the boys and their role modelling was a pleasure to observe.

SSV Yarra Division Cross Country 2026

On Thursday 14th May, 45 students from Lilydale Heights College participated in the SSV Yarra Division Cross Country. We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part and represented the College so positively throughout the day. Every student demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, respect and resilience, with several teachers from other schools going out of their way to praise the exceptional behaviour of our students.  As a school, we achieved an impressive third-place finish overall, missing second place by just one point. This was an outstanding result, particularly as we only had one competitor in the 16-year-old age group due to work experience commitments. Congratulations to the 15–20 students who finished in the top 15 for their age groups and have now qualified for the Regional Cross-Country Championships in June. We wish them the very best for the next stage of competition.
