Learning Walks in Action

This week our leadership team visited classrooms across the school as part of our regular learning walks. These visits are an opportunity to celebrate effective teaching practices, reflect on our instructional approaches, and identify ways to continue improving student learning.

A key focus was Checks for Understandings, strategies teachers use throughout a lesson to ensure every student is actively thinking, participating and receiving timely feedback. It was wonderful to see students confidently using mini whiteboards, sharing their thinking and engaging in lessons with high levels of participation.

Learning walks are not about evaluating individual teachers; they are about strengthening our collective practice so that every student experiences high-quality teaching every day. By working together to refine our teaching, we continue to build consistent learning experiences that support all students to grow and succeed.
