GPS Glamour

One of the biggest competitions in SA for the year is Aussie Gold Internationals and this is the competition that GPS Glamour performed at a couple of weeks ago and won first place in their category.

Over the years, quite often GPS enter the primary school category to compete against other schools, however, when there is no competition for us in this category we enter a category to compete against cheer clubs and dance schools. At Aussie Gold Internationals, there were four levels for our team to compete at, Dancestar, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. GPS Glamour was entered in the Youth Intermediate Pom division.

As coaches, we recently received detailed results from the event. We are pleased to share that out of an enormous 52 Pom teams (aged 5 years old through to adult teams), GPS Glamour had the 7th highest score of the competition and this is including all the teams who were entered in the world's categories. Without the World’s teams, GPS had the fourth-highest score of the competition - 78.85! This is an amazing achievement and we are so proud of the team for their hard work and commitment over the year.

Congratulations on a fabulous year, GPS Glamour!

On Sunday the 5th of November, the GPS Glamour Pom cheer team performed at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre at the Aussie Gold International Competitions.

We were up against other dance clubs and came first and we were very proud of our performance. We worked as a team throughout the year to make an upbeat pom routine for our competitions and performances. We felt very excited but when we got backstage the nerves started to kick in.

We would like to thank Mrs Maglio for taking on the pom team even though she isn't a pom coach. We would also like to thank Mrs Brown for giving up her time outside of school to help the team.
