SAPSASA Girls Cricket

On Monday of week 5, the SAPSASA Girls Cricket team played in the semi-finals of the statewide competition against Aldgate Primary School. We won the toss and decided to bat first. Well done to Isabelle and Layla for the great start they gave us, which helped us get to a big score. Isabelle retired at 25 runs, Chloe made 20 runs, and Layla got 10, giving us a total of 1/131 off 20 overs. Well done to Isabelle for getting a wicket on the very first ball of our bowling innings plus another bowled as well, Elise for getting a batter caught behind by Jessie, and then Georgia, who got a runout. Aldgate ended up with a score of 4/94 off 20 overs, which meant we won by 37 runs, which was a great achievement.

We would just like to thank Mr Smith and Brayden for all the hard work they have put into the team from after-school cricket training to giving up their lunchtime to help the team. We would also like to thank Aldgate Primary School for travelling to our oval and playing the game. Thanks to all the parents, students and teachers who came along and watched us. We are very excited to play in the Grand Final in week 8!

Premiers Be Active Challenge

We had 239 students complete the Premier's Be Active Challenge this year. Congratulations to all who took on the challenge.

SAPSASA District Selection

Congratulations to Quinn S and Olivia P on their selection for the SAPSASA District Tennis team. They are competing at a carnival this week.

Congratulations once again to Jake S and Salaar H who competed as members of the Salisbury East district team at the statewide cricket carnival earlier in November. The team played very well, just missing out on a spot in the final and the boys had a great time.

Chloe, Alia and I competed at the SAPSASA District Cricket Carnival in the Northern Metro Girls team. We played 6 games over 3 days improving after each game. Overall we placed fourth.

It was a great opportunity to put into practice the skills we have been learning with Mr Smith and Brayden. We had many opportunities to bat, bowl, field and keep over the 3 days as we were 3 players short. It was lots of fun!
