From the Leadership Team

Dear Families,

Term 4 is flying by! In addition to the variety of learning and extra-curricular experiences our students have enjoyed, it has been wonderful to see our families and extended community join us for special events such as Remembrance Day and of course, Family Fun Night.

The Governing Council team organised a fundraising event at The Blue Gums Hotel on Monday, 6 November which was well attended. $5 from every schnitzel sold was donated to our school. Thank you to everyone who supported the event and to the Blue Gums Hotel for donating $215 to our school.

As the following weeks are jam-packed with events for the students and the broader school community, please take a moment to look at the school calendar to keep your fingers on the pulse!

Next week on Thursday, 30 November all students will be going on a fun end-of-year excursion. Please refer to the communication sent home via email for any special instructions and ensure children in years 3-6 arrive at 8:30 am to allow for prompt departure at 9:00 am.

F-2 students will be having lunch at school shortly after they return from the cinema and can order lunch from the canteen.

Students not attending the excursion are required to attend school as usual where they will access a modified curriculum.

On Friday, 1 December all students can wear sun-smart casual clothes for their visit to the disco.

Parent Portal - Reports

The semester two reports will be available online on Wednesday 13 December at 3:10 pm.

The link for the Parent Portal is: https://greenwith.schools.impromation.com.au/portal4parents/?Schid=1858

If you experience difficulty in accessing your child's report via the Parent Portal, please contact the school to assist you, not the reporting company. The school is the liaison between the reporting company and families.

2024 Kindy Transition Visits

It was great to see our 2024 Foundation students on their transition days earlier this term. The students were able to experience some class time with teachers in the 13 Block and they all enjoyed their visit.

Thank you to Jacqui Isgar for her thorough planning and leadership and to all our students involved in welcoming our new Foundation students. We believe these visits are very important for the children to become familiar with the school expectations, routines and surroundings and we look forward to having them as part of our school in 2024.

Baby Announcement

Congratulations to our Acting Deputy Principal, Dani Schina and her partner Sharni on the birth of their baby girl, Gia Alessia last week. We wish them an extra special time together and look forward to welcoming Dani back to GPS in week 9.

Staffing Update

Dear Greenwith Primary School Community

Recently, I was fortunate to be the panel chairperson to appoint a candidate for the position of Deputy Principal at Greenwith Primary School for the next five years. The panel process has been completed and through merit-based selection, I am very pleased to inform you that Dani Schina has been offered the position and has accepted.

I offer Dani my congratulations and best wishes on her appointment and I am looking forward to working alongside Dani, the Greenwith Primary School staff team and the school community from the beginning of 2024.

Yours sincerely,

Darren Stevenson

CTTG Greenwith Oval Playground Upgrade

A new playground has been built by CTTG at Greenwith Oval, beside the courts and Community Centre. This has been a joint project funded by the TTG Council, Greenwith PS and Our Lady of Hope through our Joint User Agreement.  The playground features climbing nets, a rock climbing wall, basket swings and slides. Upgrade works included new pathways, turf and additional tree plantings.   A shade sail over the playground to provide sun protection will be installed by late 2023.

During lunch and recess, the playground is available for Primary students in years 4-6 to use.
