RAAF Base Tour

On Tuesday, 24 October, Defence School Mentor Deb Thompson along with 3 members of the leadership team visited RAAF Base Edinburgh. The purpose of the visit was to gain an insight into the lifestyle of defence personnel and the impact it can have on their children. 

During the visit, defence personnel spoke about their roles, relocation and deployment and how they take comfort in knowing that their children are well supported at school by the Defence School Mentor and wellbeing team. 

Staff from 21 schools with defence support attended the tour which included 92 Wing, 7RAR, 1ARMD and the new surveillance aircraft, P-8A Poseidon. One of the highlights was climbing on and exploring inside the huge tanks and military vehicles.
