Sustainability and Gardening Club

This fortnight the OLSC Gardening Club began getting the garden beds ready for next term so we can grow some winter vegetables.

Sort'd

Our school has some good initiatives in being sustainable with our rubbish. We have bottle bins and compost bins to reduce long term waste, as well as paper recycling.  To help you with our upcoming Sort’d competition, please ensure all juice boxes, etc are empty.  If you can’t finish your drink, please empty the drink contents into the sink before putting the box in the bottles bin.   Learning Centres can also tear up some paper from their recycle bins and add to their compost bins - this will help the compost to break down quicker (meaning less smells!), as well as assist  you in the Sort’d competition.  Note: paper should be no more than half the volume of the compost bin (we will be checking 🙂)!

Habitat Heroes

Our Sustainability students have continued working on the Habitat Heroes program.  We look forward to showing you their knowledge in action in coming months.
