Week 6 Update

Winter has well and truly arrived, and with it, we've seen a noticeable increase in student and staff absences due to illness. To help minimise the spread, we kindly ask that you keep your child home if they are unwell. Your support helps keep our school community healthy.

We also appreciate your patience as we work with a high number of relief teachers across classes due to staff illness. Many of our regular relief teachers (TRTs) know our students well. If your child’s regular teacher is away and you have questions, feel free to speak with the relief teacher. If they’re unable to assist, please email the regular teacher, who will follow up upon their return, or visit the Front Office. For urgent concerns, a member of the Leadership team will follow up.

Semester 1 Reports

Teachers are currently preparing Semester 1 reports, which provide a detailed summary of your child’s progress and future learning goals. These reports aim to give an accurate and objective reflection of achievement to date.

Please note that mid-year reports reflect progress against the year-level standard based on what has been taught so far. It is common for students to still be working towards end-of-year expectations. Teachers use their professional judgement to assess achievement at this mid-point, and where necessary, they will contact families to discuss interventions or how you can support your child at home.

Reports will be available via email and the EMS Community Portal from Monday 29th June after 12pm. If you need assistance accessing the Portal, please contact Vanessa on 8443 5544.

LNPS Choir

Our school community was treated to an outstanding showcase of musical talent at Friday's assembly, with performances from our Whole School Choir, as well as several talented soloists. The confidence and enthusiasm displayed by our students were super impressive and highlighted the strength of the performing arts at LNPS. Students should be incredibly proud of the way they represented themselves and our school. Thank you to Ms Barker and Frau Chesterman for all work they have done establishing the Whole School Choir.

Adding to the celebrations, our Senior Choir recently participated in the Festival of Music Performance Assessment. This assessment is an important milestone in the Festival of Music journey and provides valuable feedback on choir performance and development.

We are delighted to share that the Senior Choir was awarded a B- grading, a fantastic achievement that reflects the dedication, growth, and commitment of our students. Even more impressive were the individual assessment areas, with the choir receiving A grades for Teamwork, Presentation, Literacy (knowledge of lyrics), and Musical Literacy. These results acknowledge the students' hard work, positive attitude, and willingness to strive for excellence.

Congratulations also to  Louis and Zaydan from T19 who successfully auditioned for the prestigious Street Percussion opportunity as part of the Festival of Music. They will perform as members of a 150 strong percussion ensemble, opening all four Festival of Music concerts at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in September. This is an outstanding achievement and a wonderful recognition of their musical talent and dedication. Congratulations, Louis and Zaydan!

A very special acknowledgement must also go to Frau Chesterman for her passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the development of our choir. Over the past few years, she has worked to build our senior choir, the Middle Choir and now our Junior Choir to enable students across the school to develop their musical skills and love of performing.

Due to Frau Chesterman's leadership and commitment, LNPS students have proudly represented our school as Festival of Music soloists, percussion performers, choir members, and festival hosts over the past few years. These achievements reflect the building culture of music at LNPS and opportunity that she has helped develop within our school community. The continued growth and success of our choir program is an outcome of her expertise, enthusiasm, and belief in every student.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and care Frau Chesterman invests in our students.

Volunteers Morning Tea

Last Friday, we held our annual Volunteers Morning Tea to acknowledge and celebrate our incredible volunteers. Their dedication, generosity, and willingness to support the school makes a significant difference to our students and teachers, and we are truly grateful for all they do throughout the year.

A special thank you also to our Student Ambassadors, who created thoughtful thank you cards and spent time mingling with our volunteers during the event. Their efforts helped make the morning even more memorable and meaningful.

Our volunteers are an invaluable part of our community, and we were delighted to recognise their outstanding contributions.

We hope everyone has a great long weekend.
