Last week, the Lockleys North boys took on Woodville Primary in their first knockout game and produced an impressive team performance.

Playing on their home ground, the boys started strongly through the midfield and quickly set the tone for the day. Their effort, teamwork and determination were evident from the opening bounce right through to the final siren.

A highlight of the match was the way every player embraced different positions to help the team. They created plenty of scoring opportunities and celebrated in style.

The support from students, staff and parents on the sidelines was fantastic and provided a great atmosphere throughout the game.

The boys made coaching easy today, and I couldn’t be prouder of the way they played and represented the school.

The next round will be a much tougher challenge, but this group of boys look forward to the challenge ahead.

Joey Garuccio from Adelaide United (cousin to Rachela, Matteo & Sonny) came down to training!

The kids got to ask him soccer questions at the end.

U7 White

The Lockleys North Primary School U7 White team had a fantastic game this week, and we were lucky enough to avoid the rain!

The team played really well, creating many exciting attempts on goal and showing great determination throughout the match. Their hard work paid off with two amazing goals, scored by Luca and Nicholas.

It was wonderful to see the team working so well together in both defence and attack. Just as importantly, the players showed excellent sportsmanship. They were respectful and kind, checking on their teammates and making sure players from the other team were okay when anyone was hurt.

With plenty of rainbows appearing throughout the day, it was a beautiful setting for a great game of soccer. Well done to the U7 White team on a fantastic effort!

U11

Under 11 soccer update.

With a mix of experienced and new players  Under 11s have started off with a couple of tough losses, but they are learning a lot and having fun. We're looking forward to a fun season.

SA State Schools Orienteering Championships

Florence took part in the W10 age group on Monday (the youngest group available). She finished 11th in group of 13, which we are super proud of, as it was her first competition. She has only recently been able to go around with very minimal supervision.

I wasn’t able to be there, but her Uncle & Grandad were helping and supplied these photos. One is with a friend from Hawthorndene PS.

The weather wasn’t ideal, but they all had a great time.

SAPSASA AIRPORT Football 2026

The SAPSASA Football Carnival was held at West Beach Barrett Reserve from Monday 25th May to Wednesday 27th May.

To start off the carnival, we were all ready for our early 9:00 am game against Barossa Light. We started with a pretty big win by 5 goals, and I played well, kicking 2 goals. Our next game was against Lower Eyre Peninsula, and we won by 4 goals, with me kicking another 2 goals.

Our next game was against East Adelaide, and we underestimated them. They came at us hard, kicking the first two goals. However, Airport (us) found our rhythm and ended up winning by 5 goals, with me kicking 1 goal. After Day 1, we knew we had done very well, but the job wasn’t finished, with most of the stronger teams still to come.

Our first game on Day 2 was against Mid North. We didn’t think they would be one of the toughest teams, but we may have been a little overconfident after our strong start to the carnival. They kicked the first 4 goals while we struggled to get going. We managed to kick 1 goal before half-time, which gave us some hope. We came out in the second half determined to turn things around, and that’s exactly what we did. We kicked the next 7 goals and ended up winning by 4 goals. I kicked 2 goals, and one was a little banana from the pocket. Our next game was against one of the toughest teams in the competition, South West. Both teams started strongly and fought hard all game. It was very even, but we just had that little bit more effort. Late in the game, the ball spilled into my hands and, of course, I kicked the goal. The siren sounded, and we ended up winning by about 10 points. Once again, I finished with 2 goals. Our next game was against Southern Heights. We started strongly in the first ten minutes, with me kicking a goal early. Then I went up for a mark and dislocated my finger. I knew I probably wouldn’t be able to play the next day, but I wanted to play so badly that I decided to give it a go anyway. We still ended up beating Southern Heights by about 60 points.

On the final day, we had to get there early for our 8:30 am game against Onkaparinga South, a team we didn’t think would be that strong. They put up a fight in the first half, but in the second half we started dominating and ended up winning by about 4 goals. Our next game was against Gawler, who were a pretty big threat. However, we knew that if we played with teamwork, we could beat them, and that’s exactly what we did. We won by about 3 goals.

Now it was down to us and City South, the two unbeaten teams, in the final game of the carnival. This was by far our hardest game yet. In the first half, we lacked confidence, and City South took advantage, leading by 2 goals at half-time. Luckily, our captain was working his heart out; otherwise, the margin could have been much bigger. In the second half, we came out determined to win. We played with intensity, confidence, and belief. We started strongly, kicking the first two goals to level the scores. We had so many opportunities throughout the half. Then, in the final seconds of the game, everything happened so quickly. I laid a big tackle, the ball hit the ground, and my teammate ran through, picked it up, fell over, got back up, and kicked it forward to one of our teammates. Just before the siren sounded, he kicked the winning goal. We ended up winning by a single goal. We were all screaming with excitement as we headed over to the clubrooms to receive our beautiful gold medals. Overall, the carnival was amazing, and I finished by kicking 10 goals across the three days.

This was such a great carnival and one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had. Not only did I get to play lots of footy, but I also got to represent my district with my teammates and create some awesome memories.
