Beyond the Bell
Episode 3- More Than The Scoreboard now live
In our third episode of Beyond the Bell, we hear from three of Mt A’s sport achievers: Pia (Year 11), Taylor (Year 9) and Metben (Year 11). The episode explores the powerful connection between sport, mindset, and everyday life, highlighting how moments of challenge can become opportunities for growth.
We hear about the pressure of having to bounce back quickly after a mistake where doubt can creep in mid-competition, and how learning to mentally reset in those moments builds resilience and discipline- skills that translate directly into academic life.
The episode also highlights the importance of balance: knowing when to rest, making time to plan the week ahead, and managing commitments across sport and academics. These lessons reinforce that success isn’t just about performance- it’s about growth, wellbeing, and showing up with intention in all aspects of life.
Thank you to our guests for their time and courage in sharing stories of challenge, growth and resilience.

Hosted by our College Captains Monica and Niamh, Beyond the Bell is a podcast created to celebrate and share the many stories that make up our Mount Alvernia community. It offers parents and carers, students and staff a window into College life beyond the classroom – the moments, conversations and experiences that shape who we are.
Each episode shines a light on the people, passions and purpose that make our College what it is – exploring learning, leadership, wellbeing, faith, service and the everyday moments that matter. It’s about connection, courage and community, and sharing the stories that reflect who we are and who we are becoming.
