Frenchie for a Day

As part of the Year 10 Careers Pathways program, a group of students with an interest in the beauty industry attended an industry experience day at The French Beauty Academy. The Academy offers VET for Schools programs, providing valuable entry-level pathways into this growing field.

During the visit, students explored a range of courses and career opportunities while participating in hands-on activities. These experiences introduced them to beauty therapy services, skin therapies, and the skills required for a successful career in the industry. It was an engaging and informative day that allowed students to gain insight into future study and career options in beauty.

Student Reflections

"During our visit to the academy, I noticed the whole place was pink and emphasized the importance of women/ sister hood. The main event of the day (the facial) was the most enjoyable, we got taught how to properly apply products that catered for our specific skin type. I was surprised to learn that there were so many different courses to explore while still in school. The most interesting part of the day was exploring our different skin types and how they were affected by a UV light, for example under a UV light oil on your skin comes up in orange dots. In the future, I would thoroughly enjoy working in the beauty industry exploring how the skin gets affected by different ingredients in skincare and helping others find the best products suited to their skin. Overall, the excursion was extremely fun and interesting, allowing me to learn information I did not, and spend time with my peers." - Jessica

"The excursion to the academy was fun and helpful. We learned many new skills and techniques. My favourite part was learning about the different types of skins and how different products are used. This excursion made me feel excited about working in the beauty industry. I think this could be a good job for me in the future." - Pia
