This week our school celebrated National Reconciliation Week, embracing this year's theme ‘Bridging Now to Next’. This theme invites all Australians to reflect on our shared histories and take steps towards a more unified future. Our students engaged in various activities to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures one of which was learning a special song and dance that they performed during our Reconciliation Week assembly.Keep your eyeon the Springvale Rise social media for a video of this special performance.
Last week, we were thrilled to welcome the Smile Squad to Springvale Campus. Smile Squad is the Victorian Government's free school dental program.
This initiative provides all students in government schools with complimentary dental check-ups, treatments and oral health education right here at our school. The Smile Squad staff are super friendly and will be at our school for the next couple of months. As part of the program every student has also received a dental pack to encourage good brushing habits at home and ensure our students maintain healthy smiles. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Smile Squad team for their dedication to our students' health.
