National Reconciliation Week

This week, our school community came together to mark National Reconciliation Week—a significant time for all Australians to deepen their understanding of our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to reflect on how we can each contribute to a more inclusive and united future.

To honour this important week, students took part in a range of rich and meaningful learning experiences. Highlights included an online author presentation with proud Gunai woman Kirli Saunders, a special assembly, and a whole-school performance of Solid Rock by Shane Howard—demonstrating our shared commitment to being a voice for Reconciliation.

The spirit of Reconciliation Week will carry into next week, as our student leaders represent Springvale Rise at a special event at the Springvale Community Hub. The event will include a Welcome to Country and a traditional Smoking Ceremony—further grounding our journey in respect, truth-telling, and connection.

Celebrating Our Wonderful Volunteers

Last week, we proudly celebrated National Volunteers Week—Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering. This special week shines a light on the incredible contribution volunteers make across the country and inspires others to get involved.

At Springvale Rise, we are fortunate to have an amazing group of volunteers who support our school in so many meaningful ways. Whether through their involvement in our Community Hub programs or their commitment on School Council, their time and dedication make a real difference.

To show our appreciation, we hosted a special morning tea and presentation in their honour. It was a small gesture to say a big thank-you for the care, energy, and heart they bring to our school community every day.

We are so grateful for your continued support—you help make Springvale Rise a wonderful, more connected place for everyone.

Keep smiling,
