Student Wellbeing and Engagement

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)

Springvale Rise has recently implemented School-wide Positive Behaviour Support, an evidence based framework designed to help schools create positive, safe, and fair settings where students and teachers can thrive. It focuses on teaching and encouraging positive behaviour, supporting all students, and providing extra help to those who need it. By doing this, SWPBS helps improve behaviour, wellbeing, and academic success.

At Springvale Rise, our expected behaviours are guided by our School Values: Collaboration, Excellence, Resilience, and Respect. We are currently trialling a draft ‘SWPBS - Behaviour Matrix’ that clearly and positively outlines the behaviours we expect across a range of settings — including classrooms, outdoor areas, online environments, and transitional spaces.

Further information can be found on the Department of Education’s website: https://www.vic.gov.au/SWPBS

Smile Squad has arrived at Springvale Campus!

All children deserve a healthy smile, and the Smile Squad is coming to Springvale Rise Primary School to help make sure this happens.

Smile Squad is a Victorian Government program that provides free dental care to all Victorian government primary school students.

The friendly Smile Squad dental team is here to visit us to conduct a free annual dental health examination for every student and provide free follow up treatment as needed.

Don’t forget your Smile Squad consent form! There is still time to return the form to the office! If you need help with filling out the forms, please come to the office.

Heights Campus

We’re pleased to let you know that the Smile Squad dental treatment van will be returning to our school in approximately three months. Students who require further dental care will be seen during this visit.

Smile Squad clinicians have already reached out to some families by phone to explain the treatment needed and to obtain verbal consent.

If you recently submitted a form or are concerned your child may have been missed, please don’t worry. We want to reassure all families that no student will miss out. All students who need treatment will be seen when the dental van arrives.

Until then, eat well, drink well and clean well for a healthy smile!  To find out more about the Smile Squad visit: Smile Squad | health.vic.gov.au
