What a wonderful evening we all enjoyed two weeks ago with our Welcome Back BBQ! The class dances taught by Kira (STOMP) were all impressive. Well done to all our students!

 

In class we have continues with our dance program.

This week our Foundation students have learned 

  • The dance of the 7 steps
  • The Shoemaker's dance
  • A sailor went to sea.

Grade 1/2 became more confident with 

  • The Shoemaker's dance 
  • and also learned The Heel and Toe Polka

Grades 3-6 students have had fun with 

  • The Freeze Dance
  • Diamond Dancing, where each student has a turn at leading their group
  • and learning how to create an Add-On Dance where each small group creates choreography for 8 bars then freezes while the next group dances their 8 bars.
  • They also explored symmetrical poses.

Everyone has shown great resilience being so active in spite of the heat.

 

Last Friday our Performing Arts Captains for 2025 were announced at assembly:

  • Junior choir: Elsa and Lizzie
  • Senior choir: Piper and Gracie
  • Marimba Band: Inika and Sophia

Congratulations to these students as they begin their roles.
