"Fraction Creations: Maths Meets Art!"

This week, our talented Year 3/4 students combined creativity with mathematical thinking in an exciting Fraction Artworks activity! Using large and small circles and squares, students carefully cut their shapes into fractions of their choice—halves, quarters, eighths, and more—before arranging them into unique images and patterns. From vibrant mosaics to imaginative animals and landscapes, each artwork was a masterpiece of both colour and calculation!

To complete the task, students applied their fraction knowledge and problem-solving skills, ensuring that all fractions were cut evenly and accurately. They then counted and added up the different fractions used in their designs, reinforcing their understanding of how fractions work in real-life contexts. This hands-on activity not only strengthened their maths skills but also showcased their creativity and attention to detail. Well done to all our budding mathematicians and artists! 🎨➗✨
