From the Classroom - S2 (Lauren)

It has been a busy and productive time in the S2 classroom! 

In Reading, students have been enjoying our novel studies, developing our ability to respond to a text using evidence, and sharing their thoughts about the novel with a small group of their peers.

Our class novel  'How to be a Prime Minister and survive Year Five' has been fun to read and connects with our learning in Humanities. We are learning about the different levels of government, our focus the last few weeks has been on State Government and how new laws are implemented.

In Writing, we have been learning how to create engaging narratives, focusing on developing characters, settings, interesting plots and descriptive language. We were given a theme of 'The Lost Worlds' and our writing pieces will become a part of our MRPS Writers' Festival. We can't wait to share them with you!

In Maths, we have been learning about angles, identifying different types of angles and exploring how to recognise and compare them in a range of shapes and everyday situations.

It has been wonderful to see students building their confidence, sharing their ideas and working enthusiastically across all areas of learning.
