Be Heard

Junior School students have been exploring the House Pillar Be Heard. They participated in a range of engaging sessions, working in small groups to develop their unique voices and strengthen their speaking and listening skills in their House Teams. 

Through a variety of fun and interactive games, students were encouraged to share their opinions, present and justify arguments, persuade an audience, ask questions to gather information, use body language to communicate a message and listen attentively to others.

One of the highlights was the opportunity to work with peers from different year levels. They worked in mixed groups comprising Prep to Year 4 students, providing an opportunity to learn from and support one another. 

It was wonderful to see and hear the buzz of excitement as students developed these important communication skills in creative and unique ways. With the first Be Heard session taking place the day before our Book Week Parade, students embraced the theme and enthusiastically participated in a book-character version of ‘Who Am I?’.

House Leaders and teachers witnessed the students demonstrate enthusiastic participation as they embraced the opportunity to Be Heard!
