During Term 3 the students of Digital Design have been exploring the world of visual design by developing their photography skills, inspired by selected photographic artists such as David Hockney, Vivian Maier and Man Ray.

While creating their photographic tasks, the students complete their work digitally, each task allowing them to experiment and become more confident in editing their photographs using particular tools in Adobe Photoshop.  Editing light levels, contrast, colour saturation, using multiple layers and creating interesting compositions.

The students will have the chance to continue these new skills while creating a movie poster using Adobe Illustrator.  The next steps will be learning how to create their own typography and compositions, and the appropriate types of photography and vector graphics to complete their poster design.

The planning of each photographic task has begun in the classroom, with students heading out to take photographs and bringing their images back to class the following week to finalise their edits.
