Term 3 Highlights

What an amazing term we have had at the Community Hub! We have seen wonderful participation, connection, learning, celebration and community spirit across our Sewing, English, Playgroup and Women Only Huddle-Up programs, along with great success at our Father’s Day stall. 

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff and volunteers for making it all possible. 

We wish everyone a safe and joyful holiday break and look forward to seeing you in Term 4!

Sewing Class:

Our sewing class has been a great success this term, with high participation rates and growing confidence among our participants. 

Our participants have been learning to make dresses, bags, fitted bedsheets, cushion covers and pencil cases. 

With so much creativity and learning taking place, we are excited to let you know that we will be running two sewing classes next term.

We are very proud of what our participants have achieved!

Playgroup & Toy Well Toy Library:

This term the Community Hub opened a second playgroup on Monday afternoons and has continued to run the Tuesday morning playgroup. Both playgroups have been running successfully this term, with an increase in enrolments and great participation from many children and families. Our Playgroup Facilitator, Samar continues to create a fun and welcoming space where children can learn, play and build new skills. 

Families have continued to enjoy using our Toy Well Toy Library, which is open during both playgroup sessions giving children the opportunity to borrow free toys and learn through play at home.

A special highlight this term was a visit from the Hume City Library Book Van, where families were able to explore the Van and select their favourite books to borrow and take home to enjoy together. Another highlight was the Teddy Bears’ picnic which we had this week, to celebrate the end of the term.

It has been wonderful to see so much learning, connection and joy happening through our two playgroups.
